The Photography Community on Substack

There are quite a lot of photographers here on Substack, but how do you find them?1 Well, if you are new here, or lost maybe - here’s a list of publications2 with a (main) focus on photography!3

It’s in alphabetical order based on the name of the publication at the time of adding. Use the “quick navigation” (on the left on the desktop browser window) to quickly jump to a letter.

Ps: of course this list is incomplete, so if your publication is not on it (and would like it to be added), please leave a comment on this post4:

I’ll try to keep this list updated as best as possible.

And finally, feel free to share this page to anyone who might find it helpful! :)

Since Substack still does not have a photography category in 2025 …

Publications only, no personal profiles. If you’re new I can imagine it’s all very confusing. Hope I can explain it in a few sentences: you have your profile (mine is: https://substack.com/@ronaldsmeets). You can post whatever you want to on your profile, but they (only) end up in your “feed” (the Notes feature of Substack, see this as an alternative Facebook / X / Instagram / Bluesky feed). But you can also have Publications, mine is:

and those Publications I collect into this list. You can also post whatever you want on your publication, but typically people use this for more long-form articles. People that subscribe to your Publication can/will also receive those articles as a “newsletter” in their mailbox (if you enable that, it’s optional). In your profile setting you should see a “create publication” button, that’s where you start setting up a Publication. Does this all make sense? :-)

I have no idea how long a Substack Page can be, but I guess I’ll find out soon :)

Because it seems I can’t add a comment section on a “Page”-post.
